This Privacy Policy describes how Butter Squared (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit buttersquared.com (the “Site”).

This policy applies to the buttersquared.com marketing website only. The ButterReel application at butterreel.buttersquared.com is governed by its own privacy terms presented at sign-up.

Information we collect

We collect two categories of information:

Information you provide directly. When you submit our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message. This is used solely to respond to your inquiry.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our analytics and security tools automatically receive technical information including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring URL, and time of visit.

Third-party services

The Site uses the following third-party services that may collect or process information:

  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console — traffic measurement and search performance, via Google Site Kit. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • A2 Hosting — web hosting provider; processes server logs that include IP addresses for operational and security purposes.
  • Complianz — cookie consent management. Records your consent preferences in your browser.
  • Wordfence — security and firewall service. Processes IP addresses to detect and block malicious traffic.
  • Smush — image optimization. Does not collect visitor data.
  • WPForms — contact form processing. Form submissions are stored on our hosting infrastructure and emailed to admin@buttersquared.com.

Cookies

The Site uses cookies for essential functionality, analytics, and security. You can manage your cookie preferences via the consent banner or by visiting our Cookie Policy.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and for our reasonable business records, typically not exceeding 24 months. Analytics data follows Google’s default retention settings (14 months). Server and security logs are retained per our hosting and security providers’ standard retention windows.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email admin@buttersquared.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
