These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of buttersquared.com (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Site operator

The Site is operated by Butter Squared, based in Alberta, Canada. Contact: admin@buttersquared.com.

Scope

These Terms apply to the buttersquared.com marketing website only. The ButterReel application at butterreel.buttersquared.com is governed by its own terms presented at sign-up.

Use of the Site

You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s operation or security.
  • Use automated systems (scrapers, bots, crawlers) in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load on the Site, except for legitimate search engine indexing.
  • Use the Site to transmit unsolicited communications, harmful code, or unlawful content.

Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, brand marks (“Butter Squared,” “ButterReel,” “ButterFlow”), and design elements — is owned by Butter Squared or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any Site content without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial reference.

Third-party links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or operation of any linked third-party site. Following such links is at your own discretion.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that the Site will be error-free, secure, or continuously available.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Butter Squared and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from or related to your use of the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed CAD $100.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Butter Squared from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or violation of these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Alberta, Canada.

Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after revisions constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
